So we had a really good homily today and I thought I would write it down before I forget it. The reading was the same from last week... I think they got confused and read the wrong one, however the homily hit so close to home. The homily was the parable about the wheat and the weeds growing in the same field. The slave went to the master saying, "did you not sow good seed? Why are there so many weeds?" the master said, "this is surely the work of our enemy.. don't pull the weeds out because you may pull out the roots of the wheat as well... Instead let them all grow together and then when it's time we will cut them all, separate the good from the bad, cast the weeds in to the fire and bundle the wheat in to my barn." Now the priest said that God chooses the let the good live among the bad and he won't pull out the weeds quite yet because the weeds could become wheat like the others when they grow up and get older. Look at Peter... he became our first pope! There are so many examples of people changing their lives around. We must learn to be patient and pray others too will be able to change their lives around... God gives us the gift of time. We all need each other. Relationships are such a big part of our lives.
Jesus got in trouble for hanging out with the wrong crowd... we must dwell in with the weak to make them stronger.
